NEVER JUMP OVER A BROKEN TREE LOG

Someone told me of an ancient African bushman saying.  Never jump over a broken tree log, always jump on the log.  You never know what is hiding on the other side of the log.  Good thing somebody told me this, and even better that I listened and remembered. 

 

 

One day I jumped on top of a small wall instead of jumping over it.  Right on the other side I saw a small brown Cape Cobra.  I was really lucky again.  If you were there and saw the way I jumped on the wall and then immediately jumped backwards.  Then it was pretty hilarious, probably the furthest jump I ever made:-) Anyway if I had not jumped on top of the wall, I would have jumped right over and landed on a cobra.
