FRIDAY THE 13TH GIRL

FRIDAY THE 13TH 1

 AGE – 19

Friday the 13th is supposed to be a day with unfortunate events.  What happened to me that night did start off as an unfortunate event.  But in the end; it was a good night – very fortunate.  A friend and I wanted to go to a clubbing that Friday night.  I was 19 and he was 17.  Because of that age difference, we went to an under aged club.  The first thing we did was look around for girls.  I mean, you can’t blame us for that.  We saw 2 girls sitting at a table, alone.  One had black hair and the other had blonde hair.  I chose the brunette girl and my friend chose the blonde girl.  We started a conversation with them, and introduced ourselves.  After some time, they let us sit with them at the table.  Later we were dancing with them.  But when the 4 of us returned to the table, the brunette girl’s phone was missing.  Of course she was really upset, so she wanted to go home.  We offered the girls a lift.  At my car, she phoned her dad to tell him that her phone is missing and she will receive a lift home.

I decided to check around, so I asked my friend and the 2 girls to hang on for a while.  There was no-one walking or driving home.  So I assumed the thief was still in the club.  I went back inside, and approached tables.  I asked if they saw anyone near our table.  Everyone shook their heads negatively, until I saw someone familiar, someone I had noticed close to our table earlier.  I approached him and asked him.  He said no, but he did see someone else who was hovering close to our table.  We looked around and couldn’t find him.

FRIDAY THE 13TH 2

There was only one place left.  The men’s bathroom.  As we walked in, someone greeted us and walked out.  The guy with me went silent, I noticed something was wrong.  We waited until the other guy left and he said, that’s him.  I asked him if he is sure, and he said yes.  I started heading out, then he grabbed my arm and made me promise not to tell anyone who pointed out the thief.  I quickly said yes and then I rushed outside to check if the thief was leaving.  I saw him walking uphill towards the road.  I decided it might be better to call the bouncer and let him handle it.  Instead of me getting into an unnecessary fight.  Me and the bouncer ran after the thief and stopped him.  The bouncer found a phone on him and he couldn’t switch the phone on.  So I went to fetch my friend and the 2 girls.  They immediately noticed the phone, checked it, and it was her phone.  The blonde girl kicked the thief between the legs and then a small female bag flew out of his pants.  The bouncer didn’t really stop the blonde girl, he allowed her to beat the thief a bit.  He was then fully searched and the bouncer found a few phones and 2 bags that obviously belonged to girls.  When we returned to the club, with the thief.  There was actually a lot of people  complaining about items that were stolen.  In the end it was a good thing I did by catching the thief.  I did date the brunette for maybe 2 weeks. But when I heard she was 16 that kind of put me off the idea.  I was 19 and she was 16, so I was totally confused.  I thought it would be wrong.  So I pulled back.

 FRIDAY THE 13TH 3

She even asked me later if I want to date, and I sadly shook my head.  I thought it would be best to wait for her to turn 18, and I would remain just a friend until that date.  Ironically, after I turned her down, she ended up dating someone older than me.  Anyway, we became very good friends, and by the time she turned 18, I was really in love with her.  Maybe she thought we were only friends, but I visited her so often because I liked her, and I was waiting until she was 18.

On her birthday, I bought her a gold necklace, and I asked her to go out with me.  We went out for a few nights, and then she turned me down.  Told me it was very weird dating a friend.  To me the idea seemed just wonderful and perfect.  Especially when you  have waited for 2 years.  I guess I learnt a lesson.  My heart was broken very badly.  I had to accept it.  During the 2 years I spent so much time at her house.  That her family was basically like family to me.  I loved her sister, I loved her mom, I loved her dad, I loved her and even every pet in their house.  The pets they had actually rescued from different situations.  Till today, I am still her friend, and a friend of her family.  I wish I knew how to talk to family members for personal advice, but I didn’t know how.  And also there was no-one to ask.  I was looking after my grandfather in an old age home.  My grandfather was at such an age, well I basically I couldn’t start learning how to speak completely open to family member about my personal issues.  So in the end, it was all up to me to decide and try and figure out these important life lesson.  I cannot blame anyone, I can only blame myself.  I knew I could ask my mom anything, but  I did not know how to ask.  The photo above; shows me jumping off a cliff into the Mediterranean Sea (Age 17).  It indicates how extreme I was, accepting every dare and challenge.   But when it came to girls, I had no idea, except how to find their lost phones :-)
