AGE - 20

I had some drinks at a bar with my Friday the 13th friend.  We had to walk downstairs to leave the pub.  What I sometimes did, I slid down the rail with my shoes.  It basically started as practice for skating.  Next thing I remember is; I woke up on the street and my friend trying to tickle me.  “Wake up, wakey wakey” (-: I felt very drowsy, and for some reason, at that moment I wasn’t ticklish.  It felt slightly irritating, but at least it woke me up.

I noticed blood on the floor.  The blood was still dripping.  Then I felt around my face until I realized it was my chin bleeding.  Some strangers approached us and offered to help us.  I asked someone ‘how does my cut look, am I ok?’  He said I definitely have to go to the hospital.  I really do require stitches.  My friend offered to drive herself home.  After she was home safely, I drove towards the hospital.  I kind of didn’t know how to go to the hospital.  My grandfather was a hospital expert and knew all the details about my medical aid and such, but I did not want to wake him up.  So it wasn’t very clever but anyway, I drove back to the old age home. Without hesitating, I organized a needle and some thread.  Stole some brandy from my grandfathers liquor cupboard, filed the glass 50% with brandy.  I downed the brandy, smoked one cigarette.  Took some ice, held it against my chin for about 3 minutes.  That was the most painfully part of the night, the ice.  When I started stitching my chin in front of the mirror, I was amazed at how painless it was.  And when I was finished, I was quite impressed at my achievement.  Only 3 stitches when I likely needed more.  But in the end I was impressed :-)
